Hatha is the yoga tradition most familiar to Western culture. The term is derived from the Sanskrit ha, meaning “sun,” and tha, meaning “moon.” Hatha is a general category that includes most yoga styles. The practice of Hatha yoga focuses on total mastery of the physical body, including all bodily functions.
Vinyasa is a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced style with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.
Mommy & Me
Mommy and Me yoga classes combine yoga and play to get back in shape while strengthening the bond between you and your infant. Experience flowing asanas, challenging postures, and calming restorative time in a playful and safe environment for babies.
Hatha Yoga Teacher
We want you to learn from the best! In this certification you can expect:
• An exploration into the depth and history of yoga
• Understanding of human biology and anatomy
• Proper terminology and pillars of practice
• Learning of different yoga styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, Nidra, & Restorative
TBD Fitness & Yoga is certified by Yoga Alliance®. The goal of our program is to ensure attendees become both knowledgeable and comfortable in teaching their own practice. We pride ourselves on being an exclusive, intimate environment. Expect ample attention while learning from our highly accredited staff.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be certified as 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teachers and are eligible for Yoga Alliance RYT-200 registration.
This program will commence July 13 and will run both Saturday and Sunday from Noon-5pm every weekend except the last weekend of each month until December 22.
